Every 2 years, Rebuilding Together Peninsula partners with 15 local architects and Barbara Butler to create unique, one-of-a-kind, theme playhouses. These playhouses are displayed at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, CA, for 3 weeks and then auctioned to the highest bidder during the "Dreams Happen" Gala event. 100% of the proceeds raised from auctioning the playhouses are donated to Rebuilding Together Peninsula, an organization that builds volunteer partnerships to rehabilitate homes & community facilities for low-income, elderly and/or disabled people. Barbara Butler Artist-Builder Inc. has participated in this wonderful playhouse auction for the past 10 years. |
| Belle Bungalow |
In this compact, custom design, Barbara carved out fantastic play space by nestling Belle Bungalow into the hillside, on top of the existing retaining wall. The deck juts out just enough to provide space for monkey bars below, and access for a rock climbing wall and a rope net ladder. The slide is the only part of the play structure that invades the lawn area. |

Le Petit Chalet was designed and built for Rebuilding Together, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of families and children in unfortunate circumstances. Le Petit Chalet, along with 12 other playhouses (also donated by local architects and builders) were auctioned at the gala event with all proceeds going to Rebuilding Together. The winning bidder had the Bridge-over-Swings added to this wooden play structure prior to delivery. |

Barbara broke through an existing deck railing near the playroom of the family's home and then built steps up to a small Platform over the pathway below (so the path would remain usable). From the Platform, a 10-foot Swinging Bridge connects to a Hexagonal Tower with a Turbo Tube Slide. A fun, new approach to integrating play structure and home. |
